Stir Fry Lemon Chicken

Every time we go to the Chinese restaurant hubby always pick the lemon chicken. Lemon chicken is one of his ultimate favorites, so one time I opted to make the recipe I found on the internet. Have you ever had lemon chicken before? Who doesn't love sweet 'n' tangy, battered 'n' deep fried, Chinese-style lemon chicken?

Here's the recipe for you.
4 teaspoons peanut oil
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts - cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-wide strips

BATTER
3/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
fine sea salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 tablespoon finely minced or grated fresh ginger
2 extra-large egg whites
1/2 cup ice-cold water

LEMON SAUCE
fine zest of 1 large lemon
juice from 2 large lemons - approximately 6 tablespoons
1/2 cup fat-free chicken broth
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons white corn syrup
3 tablespoons distilled/pure white vinegar
1-1/2 teaspoons canola or corn oil
fine sea salt to taste
2 large cloves garlic - finely minced or grated
1-1/2 tablespoons cold water
4 teaspoons cornstarch


You can garnish(optional) it with thinly sliced green onion, sliced lemon, and sliced carrots.

Welcome y'all! Since I've deleted my other blog "Blogger Mom's Shopping List & Creation", I have decided to create a new blog entitled "Savour the Flavour". I realize now that cooking was something I've always been excited about, but it wasn't until I got married and have my own family that I began to approach it a more serious and thoughtful manner.

Do you want to know why I deleted the Blogger Mom's Shopping List and Creation? Well, there are many reasons why I deleted that blog:
-the feeds were incorrect
-the domain expiration and
-I am going to quit making layouts (I don't have enough time making layouts anymore...going back to school is one of my priorities right now). At least on this blog I can manage to post twice a week.
